At Galesville Elementary, hands-on learning is at the heart of STEM education, thanks to the creativity and dedication of Mr. Kamrowski. Through engaging challenges, students are not only exploring science, technology, engineering, and math but also developing essential lifelong skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and perseverance.

Recently, first graders put their engineering skills to the test by constructing the tallest possible towers using only index cards. This challenge encouraged critical thinking and reinforced key concepts in balance, stability, and structure. Meanwhile, third graders tackled a NASA-inspired design challenge, building structures strong enough to support a marshmallow. This activity mirrored real-world engineering practices, requiring students to plan, test, and refine their designs.

These hands-on experiences help students connect classroom learning to real-world applications, fostering creativity, resilience, and a growth mindset. Thanks to Mr. Kamrowski’s innovative approach, STEM is truly coming to life at Galesville Elementary!
