Today we celebrated Read for the Record and we were absolutely thrilled to welcome so many parents, grandparents, and loved ones into our building. It was our best turnout yet and the positive energy was contagious. Our Redhawk students and families moved through three special rotations: gathering to hear this year's official book See Marcus Grow, celebrating our school spirit during our monthly Redhawk Rally, and finding cozy spots to enjoy reading together in their classrooms.#GalesvillePride.

Galesville Elementary extends our deepest gratitude to all the veterans in our community and especially to those who were able to join us at our assembly this morning. A huge round of applause to our wonderful fifth grade readers and to our local Cub Scouts for the respectful and impressive flag folding demonstration. Soar, Red Hawks, Soar! 🦅 We are thrilled to announce a returning math collaboration for our 4th and 5th graders! We have the privilege of welcoming future educators from Winona State University (WSU) into our classrooms. These talented WSU students are bringing fresh energy and hands-on strategies to teach engaging math lessons and reinforce key concepts. Our Red Hawks get to benefit from diverse teaching styles and focused attention, while the WSU students gain valuable real-world experience. It's a true win-win for education and community growth right here in Galesville! #galesvillepride

Our annual fall parade was a blast! A new route due to construction couldn't dampen our spirits! It was so wonderful to see all the smiling faces and amazing costumes as we continued one of our most beloved Galesville Elementary traditions. The joy of this parade is all about our students and community coming together. A huge thank you to our staff, families, and neighbors who lined the new route to cheer us on. #GalesvillePride

Red Ribbon Week & Rigorous Learning!

It has been a spirited and fun-filled Red Ribbon Week! 🎈We're having a blast celebrating healthy choices and a drug-free life.

But even with all the theme-day excitement, the amazing learning hasn't stopped for a second! We've been balancing the fun with a ton of focused work and growth.

Just a peek at what our students have been up to:

🎃 Spooky Math: We combined art and decimals! Students used their skills in adding decimals to plot points on a coordinate grid, revealing a spooky (and very cool) drawing.

✍️ Writing Workshop: Our authors are deep in the writing process—drafting, revising, and editing their pieces. The focus and creativity are inspiring!

🔐 Escape the Classroom: We put our problem-solving skills to the test with a thrilling, math-focused escape room that had everyone working together and thinking critically.

So proud of how our students are embracing both the fun of Red Ribbon Week and the challenge of growing their minds! #galesvillepride

It takes a village to help our Red Hawks soar, and this semester, our village grew stronger with the help of three outstanding student teachers! Please join us in giving a huge Galesville Elementary thank you to:

Mr. Brown (5th Grade)
Ms. LaFleur (Art)
Ms. Stevens (Kindergarten)

We are so proud of the work they've done and wish you the very best as you embark on your professional careers in January. The future of education is bright with you in it! #galesvillepride

It's Fire Prevention Week! 🔥 A huge Red Hawk THANK YOU to the Galesville Fire Department for visiting today and teaching all our 4K-5th grade students about fire safety.

This year's theme is "Charge into fire safety: Lithium-ion batteries in your home." It was a powerful reminder for all of us to be smart and safe with our electronics. Be sure to ask your student what they learned! #galesvillepride

Our fourth graders took their learning outside yesterday! 🌳 We visited an enormous tree in one of our student’s yards to explore real-world math and science. Students measured its circumference to find the diameter to estimate the tree’s age and calculated how much water it absorbs in a week and a year. Hands-on learning + fresh air = one unforgettable lesson! 🍃📏💧 A special thank you to Mrs. Wallner, Mr. Larson, and Mrs. Iverson for all of their help with this project!

Galesville Elementary is honored to add a new Buddy Bench on our playground in memory of Becky Gagnon, a beloved former teacher. Becky truly loved teaching, especially fourth grade, and our school will always hold a special place in her family’s heart.

This special bench serves as a lasting legacy. It will provide a welcoming spot where students can sit, talk, and take a break with friends—a reflection of Becky’s caring spirit.

We are grateful to the Gagnon family for sharing this meaningful gift with our school community. ❤️. #galesvillepride

So much joy at Kindergarten Specials Night! ✨ It was incredible to see our school buzzing with excitement as students showed their families the amazing things they do in their specials classes. From creating in the art room 🎨, to exploring books in the library 📚, getting active in the gym 🏀, learning about wellness ❤️, and making music in the portable 🎵, it was a night full of smiles. The cherry on top was a delightful musical performance by our kindergarteners to end the evening. Our hearts are full! Thank you to everyone who made tonight so memorable. #GalesvillePride
