Today we celebrated Read for the Record and we were absolutely thrilled to welcome so many parents, grandparents, and loved ones into our building. It was our best turnout yet and the positive energy was contagious. Our Redhawk students and families moved through three special rotations: gathering to hear this year's official book See Marcus Grow, celebrating our school spirit during our monthly Redhawk Rally, and finding cozy spots to enjoy reading together in their classrooms.#GalesvillePride.
Galesville Elementary extends our deepest gratitude to all the veterans in our community and especially to those who were able to join us at our assembly this morning. We have the privilege of welcoming future educators from Winona State University (WSU) into our classrooms. These talented WSU students are bringing fresh energy and hands-on strategies to teach engaging math lessons and reinforce key concepts.
Our Red Hawks get to benefit from diverse teaching styles and focused attention, while the WSU students gain valuable real-world experience. It's a true win-win for education and community growth right here in Galesville!

Our annual fall parade was a blast! A new route due to construction couldn't dampen our spirits! It was so wonderful to see all the smiling faces and amazing costumes as we continued one of our most beloved Galesville Elementary traditions. Red Ribbon Week & Rigorous Learning!
It has been a spirited and fun-filled Red Ribbon Week! 🎈We're having a blast celebrating healthy choices and a drug-free life.
But even with all the theme-day excitement, the amazing learning hasn't stopped for a second! We've been balancing the fun with a ton of focused work and growth.
Just a peek at what our students have been up to:
🎃 Spooky Math: We combined art and decimals! Students used their skills in adding decimals to plot points on a coordinate grid, revealing a spooky (and very cool) drawing.
✍️ Writing Workshop: Our authors are deep in the writing process—drafting, revising, and editing their pieces. The focus and creativity are inspiring!
🔐 Escape the Classroom: We put our problem-solving skills to the test with a thrilling, math-focused escape room that had everyone working together and thinking critically.

We had a SPOOK-tacular GE Reads this month! The sun came out so we bundled up and headed outside to read in the beautiful October weather. Unity day is all about being kind, being inclusive, and being a good friend to everyone. We loved seeing so many students wearing orange in honor of this special day. Students also created special rocks to place in our river of unity to represent ways we can spread kindness. #GalesvillePride

Second Graders Conquer Wildcat State Park!
What a wonderful day of discovery! 🎒 Our second graders spent the day at Wildcat State Park, fully immersed in nature.
They explored the beautiful State Park trails, learned about local plants and wildlife, and experienced the fun of hiking. This hands-on trip was a huge success!
Thank you to the CCU Co-op Credit Union for donating many snacks and birthday cake bags for our students at all 3 elementary schools. We appreciate the community outreach to our students.
