Our 4K explorers, led by Ms. Schock's creativity, took on a legendary STEAM challenge this week! After reading the classic tale of the Three Billy Goats Gruff, our young engineers put their thinking caps on to help the goats cross safely.

Using a variety of materials, students designed and built their own bridges. They had to consider:

Stability: Will it hold the weight of a goat?

Design: Is it high enough to keep the troll underneath?

Creativity: How can we make it sturdy and strong?

At GE, we believe play is the best way to learn. Watching these students collaborate and problem-solve proves that you're never too young to be an engineer! #galesvillepride

Reading Magic & Vibrant Vocab at GE! What happens when you mix books about strong women, unicorns, and a few lucky leprechauns? You get another unforgettable GE Reads day! A huge Red Hawk "Thank You" to our fantastic guest readers, including Mr. Oliver and Mr. Peterson, for sharing their time and love of reading with our adventurers today! But the fun didn't stop at the books. It was also Vocab Dress-Up Day, and our students and staff truly outdid themselves! We saw some incredible (and educational!) representations, including: • 🌈 Vibrant colors everywhere! • ⬛ Monochromatic masterpieces! • 🪄 Magical ensembles! • 🐎 Equestrian excellence! We love seeing our students grow their vocabularies while having so much fun. #galesvillepride

Carol Howard, retired Galesville Elementary teacher, and Winnie, an English Setter, visited GE Kindergartners to teach about taking care of pets and being safe around animals when out in the community. Our students are so fortunate to have the opportunity to learn important life skills from this classroom veteran and her well-behaved dog. #galesvillepride

The GE Kindergartners learned all about shapes, colors, and fabrics during a quilt presentation by Barb Longwell, former GE educator. She brought her childhood sewing machine, and each student used the machine to sew a pocket to take home. How special to have a cherished member of our community teaching the next generation about these important skills! Thank you, Mrs. Longwell! #galesvillepride

Love and learning were in the air today at Galesville Elementary! ❤️🦅 Our Red Hawks celebrated a day of kindness by putting their BRAINS to work with some incredible STEM challenges. 🧠✨

From reviewing math facts with seasonal flair to engineering towering structures using candy gummies, our students proved that creativity and critical thinking go hand-in-hand. It wasn't just about the treats; it was about the teamwork and problem-solving that happens when we support one another! #galesvillepride

Red Hawks Soaring Together! 🦅

There is nothing better than seeing our older students step up as leaders. Ms. Lee’s 5th-grade "explorers" joined forces with Ms. Moss’s 2nd-grade class to kick off their new Wisconsin Birds writing unit!

Our 5th graders shared their research expertise to help our 2nd graders discover the amazing birds that call our state home. We love seeing this kind of collaboration and mentorship in our hallways!

🌲❄️ PBIS Celebrations in Action! ❄️🌲 We loved celebrating our students who have been showing what it means to be safe, respectful, and responsible! Students in grades 1–5 enjoyed a PBIS reward trip to Bruce Mound, where they explored nature, stayed active, and made great memories together outdoors. Meanwhile, our kindergarten students celebrated their positive choices with a cozy and fun Frozen Friday right here at school! These experiences are a wonderful reminder that when students meet PBIS expectations, great things happen—learning, joy, and connection to each other and the world around us. We are so proud of our Red Hawks! 🦅✨ #galesvillepride
