Galesville Elementary kindergarten students were treated to a special visit from local quilter and retired G-E-T teacher, Barb Longwell! Students had the exciting opportunity to sew a small pocket using her cherished childhood antique sewing machine.
This hands-on experience not only introduced our young learners to the art of quilting but also reinforced fine motor skills, patience, and creativity. Thank you, Mrs. Longwell, for connecting the past to the present and inspiring our students to explore their creativity! ❤️ #galesvillepride

What an incredible afternoon we had on Monday during our GE Reads event! 🏫✨ Students and staff joined together to celebrate the joy of reading with engaging read-alouds across the school. From cozy corners in the principal's office to a lively gathering in the staff lounge, the building was buzzing with the sounds of stories coming to life!
🎤 A special highlight was welcoming some very special readers:
Mr. Lee, who had students captivated with his animated storytelling,
A couple of brave and talented student readers, who shared a bilingual book about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., inspiring us all with a message of courage and equality,
Ms. Wina from the Galesville Public Library, who brought her enthusiasm and expertise to the event, showing students just how magical books can be!
Events like these remind us how reading connects us and helps us grow together. Thank you to everyone who made this afternoon so special! 📖❤️ #galesvillepride
